Welcome to our new project…

I have had the vdubtrip.com domain for a good 10 years or so, with the vision that we’d eventually be getting our first bus to convert and take on countless adventures.

We have had various vans like a VW T4 that we got from a local guy to us (and it went back to him after a couple of years – nice to see it’s still running!) and then more recently a Japanese import in the form of a Toyota Regius which has done us proud on a number of holidays and countless surf trips.

But finally, with a little bit of inspiration from a friend who recently passed away (thank you Ems xxx), we have gone and bought ourselves a 1985 VW LT Ambulance. More of a people carrier ambulance than an “emergency” one… but still…it’s a pretty big bus now sat on our driveway!

And she’s a beaut! only 22k miles on the clock and in incredible condition, we can’t wait to get him stripped out and converted into our family camping bus!

To get this ready for summer… I think we’re going to have to be pulling every night  / weekend we can to get it done in time.
